DESCRIPTION:Volunteer Locomotive Engineer Training: January 13 & 14\, 2024\nJoin the volunteer crews of licensed locomotive engineers at the North Shore Scenic Railroad by attending the new engineer classes January 13th and 14th\, you must attend both classes. These will be classroom style\, with OJT following in the coming weeks/months. Classes are free and designed for already USOR or GCOR certified personel only. You must have a current or recently expired (to be renewed) version of either of these certifications to attend this class. Free introductory classes for train crews can be found separate from this class by clicking here. \n \n\n\nPrerequisite Requirements \nPrevious railroad operating experience is required\, as well as previous certification. \nVolunteers must: \n\nbe at least 18 years of age\nhave a willingness to work as part of a team\nhave a safety minded attitude\nbe willing to follow company policies\, state statutes\, and federal regulations\nsubmit to and pass a pre-employment drug screening as well as random tests while operating as a crew member\npass medical\, hearing\, and vision testing\nsubmit state and federal driver’s records for review\npass written and practical tests\n\nThe administrative side of these requirements\, as well as testing\, will be addressed and completed during training.
